QIII STSurface particle detector Surface particle physical and chemical analyzerIt aims to measure surface particle density on critical surfaces with a resolution as low as 0.1 μ m. And it is used in over 3000 SPDs worldwide.




SPD uses a handheld scanning probe to gently pass through the tested surface for testing. The device uses light scattering laser technology to quantify the relative level of surface pollution particles. The surface particles are fluidized by high-pressure air discharged through the opening on the scanning probe, and then these particles are sucked into the surface particle detector through the scanning probe. The particle level is calculated inside the instrument and expressed as the original number of particles, particles per square inch or particles per square centimeter.
The system uses a solid-state laser diode light source and collection optics to detect and grade particles sucked into the scanning probe. The collection optics focus the light on a photodiode, which converts the light pulse into an electrical pulse. The pulse height is directly proportional to the particle size.
The system is controlled by a touch screen. QIII ST SPD has 6 particle size channels, with the first channel representing particles of 0.1 microns and larger, and the other channels being 0.2, 0.3, 1.0, 3.0, and 5.0 microns. Data recording can be transmitted through USB storage devices, Ethernet ports, or optional WiFi.
