Spectral ozone analyzer - Kipp Zonen
Brewer MkIII is a spectrophotometer used to measure ozone and sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere. It measures specific wavelengths of direct solar radiation to determine the total amount of ozone and sulfur dioxide columns in the atmosphere. It can also perform high-resolution ultraviolet spectral scanning of direct or total solar radiation. The software can accurately calculate UVA, UVB, UVE (erythema), and UVI (index).
Brewer MkIII spectrophotometer for ozone measurementEquipped with a spectrophotometer, installed on a dedicated azimuth tracker, tracking and measuring with solar or lunar light as the light source. Based on the absorption characteristics of ozone for UV, by accurately tracking the sun (or moon) and using diffraction spectroscopy technology, the light intensity of six wavelengths of UV (303.2 nm, 306.3 nm, 310.1 nm, 313.5 nm, 316.8 nm, 320.1 nm) is measured, and the total atmospheric ozone column is inverted based on the principle of differential absorption.
Brewer MkIII spectrophotometer for ozone measurementWidely applicable to a wide range of environments, it can be deployed for long-term outdoor monitoring. The spectrophotometer of the instrument can automatically compensate for the expansion and contraction of components caused by temperature changes. It can be used outdoors around the world without the need for complex temperature stabilization measures. At present, Brewer MkIII is used for monitoring work from the tropics to the north and south.
The MkIII 'Double' Brewer connects two photometers in series, which can improve the accuracy of ultraviolet light measurement in low sunlight conditions. The configuration of the MkIII 'Double' Brewer is significantly superior to the single spectrometer MkII Brewer and the discontinued MkIV Brewers.
