Fluke 283 FC/PVSolar digital multimeterWireless current clamp

Solar digital multimeterCombining excellent safety and convenience for solar professionals
The CAT III 1500 V/CAT IV 1000 V true RMS Fluke 283 FC digital multimeter and a283 FC true RMS wireless current clamp set a new standard for technicians working in DC environments up to 1500 V. Whether you are measuring utility scale solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays, wind energy, electrified railways, or data centers, Fluke 283 FC is carefully designed to enhance safety and increase productivity, while providing you with accurate, reliable, and reproducible results.
283 FC/PV includes accessories with a safety level of CAT III 1500 V DC, so you can work with confidence in high voltage environments without compromising safety. Staubli MC4 test wires can be quickly, reliably, and safely connected to modules or strings to test DC voltages up to 1500 V DC. The TL175-HV silicone test wire with CAT III 1500 V/CAT IV 1000 rating allows you to be more flexible when testing the voltage, millivolt voltage, resistance, continuity, or capacitance of inverters, combiner boxes, PV arrays, or individual PV modules. The LCD screen with bright backlight and illuminated keypad make it easier to use in direct sunlight and low light conditions. The accompanying magnetic pendant can free your hands, while the customized hard suitcase can protect your assets during transportation.
Other functions:
High precision voltage measurement enables precise troubleshooting of first-line faults
Capable of measuring up to 60 A AC/DC current for more accurate safety troubleshooting of module strings (using a283 FC wireless current clamp)
Visual and audio polarity indicators to prevent unexpected module wiring issues
User defined range can help you quickly decide whether to pass during troubleshooting
The multimeter readiness self-test helps ensure that your instrument is ready for testing
Save and record the measured values in internal memory and use Fluke Connect ™ View these measurements on your mobile device
The safety level is CAT III 1500 V/CAT IV 1000 V
The CAT III 1500 V DC system has now become the standard for utility scale photovoltaic systems, providing facility owners with significant cost savings and improved efficiency. These systems operate at higher voltage levels, allowing each inverter to handle higher energy, supporting longer photovoltaic string connections, and reducing the need for additional wiring and inverters. Therefore, CAT IV inverters with an output voltage of 800 V AC or higher are more common, so it is crucial to prioritize safety and accuracy in measurements.
The 283 FC multimeter and a283 FC wireless current clamp of CAT III 1500 V/CAT IV 1000 V level meet the safety requirements for testing equipment corresponding to the overvoltage category level (IEC 61730-1) of photovoltaic array electrical equipment (IEC 61010-2-032). By combining these devices with TL175-HV advanced silicone test wires of CAT III 1500 V/CAT IV 1000 V levels and CAT III 1500 V MC4 connectors, you have a comprehensive first-line troubleshooting solution that provides safe and accurate voltage measurements to troubleshoot all issues with inverters, combiner boxes, module strings, or individual modules.
