A packed tower is a tower where the tray is transformed into segmented packing and mass transfer occurs on the packing. There is a liquid distributor between the segments to prevent liquid flow from converging.
Product advantages
Although this repeated simple distillation can obtain two liquids that are close to pure components, it is time-consuming and results in significant losses during repeated distillation operations. The equipment is complex, so distillation columns are usually used for multiple gasification and condensation, which is called distillation.
In the fractionation column, when the rising vapor comes into contact with the falling condensate, the rising vapor partially condenses and releases heat, causing the falling condensate to vaporize. Heat exchange occurs between the two, resulting in an increase in volatile components in the rising vapor and an increase in high boiling point components (non-volatile components) in the falling condensate. If repeated multiple times, it is equivalent to multiple gas-liquid equilibria, achieving the effect of multiple distillations. In this way, the proportion of volatile substances near the top of the fractionation column is high, while the proportion of high boiling point components (difficult to evaporate components) in the flask is high. As long as the fractionation column is high enough, this component can be separated. The distillation tower in industry is equivalent to a distillation column.

Precautions
Equipment inspection: Before operating the distillation tower, the integrity and normal operating status of the equipment must be checked. Pay special attention to whether there are cracks, wear, air leaks, and deformations. If any problems are found, they should be reported in a timely manner. Carefully inspect the tower for accumulated water, debris, or foreign objects, and clean them before proceeding with the operation. Check the status of pressure gauges, thermometers, flow meters, level gauges, and other instruments. If there are any problems, they should be replaced or repaired in a timely manner. Check the pump equipment to confirm that the pump is running normally. If there is a malfunction, stop the machine in a timely manner for handling.

Check the circuit between the regulator and the tower kettle heater: Check the water flow channel of the tower top cooling water, connect the water circuit, and keep the tower top condenser in working condition before connecting the circuit.
Adjust the reflux ratio to the full reflux state: Adjust the transformer voltage to around 220V, observe the flow of gas and liquid inside the tower, and if liquid flooding occurs, reduce the voltage until it disappears.
Maintain voltage at a certain value: operate under full reflux control. After the temperature at the top and bottom of the tower stabilizes, a small amount of sample is taken out from the top and bottom samplers.
After the experiment, adjust the pressure regulator to zero, cut off the power, and wait for the temperature of the tower kettle to drop below 80 ° C without boiling before stopping the supply of cooling water to the top of the tower.
