Therefore, by measuring the absorbance of the standard solution and sample solution, the content of sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere can be determined. This method has high sensitivity, strong anti-interference ability, and is relatively stable after sample collection. The disadvantage is that the mercury potassium solution used for greening is highly toxic.
However, in the determination method of sulfur dioxide detector, the better one is the ultraviolet fluorescence method. It uses ultraviolet light ranging from 190nm to 230nm to excite sulfur dioxide molecules, which can emit fluorescence. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the concentration of sulfur dioxide. The sulfur dioxide analyzer made based on this principle was used abroad in 1976. This method has high sensitivity, strong selectivity, and easy operation, and is suitable for continuous automatic determination of sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere.
