This instrument is a multi-purpose, wide range small animal activity recording instrument that can be used for experiments on mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. It has the characteristic of not requiring special containers for animals and can perform real-time monitoring without changing the original living environment of animals. It can accurately record the long-term activity of animals. The instrument has two working states: a maximum set recording time of 999 hours and 59 minutes (41 days) and a long-term experiment without a set time, allowing sufficient processing time for the experimenters and ensuring the reliability of long-term experimental results.

The probe of this instrument uses a high-sensitivity detection element developed in the 1980s, which can detect changes in infrared energy and displacement emitted by living objects in a non-contact manner, and convert their changing parameters into voltage signals for automatic monitoring and counting. Being able to record the real displacement of animals, such as horizontal walking and vertical climbing exploration, and develop past two-dimensional motion records into three-dimensional motion records. This instrument has now become an ideal tool for recording the autonomous (spontaneous) activities of small animals.

This instrument has a wide range of applications and can be used for pharmacological research, toxicology research, physiological research, as well as environmental protection and monitoring experiments. The instrument has a reasonable structure, is sturdy and durable, and does not require high environmental requirements. It is a very universal experimental detection instrument.
