Introduction
SN-D-2 (Neutron Dose Rate Probe) is suitable for measuring the dose equivalent rate around neutrons. SN-D-2 is a member of the Canberra Smart Probe Series (CSP), which has the common advantages of CPS and can be paired with RDS-31, Radiagem2000, Colibri and other hosts. SN-D-2 supports "hot plugging" (probe can be replaced without shutting down), which can display external probe data while still displaying host data, and calibration can be performed without the need for a host (connected to a PC). The power circuit is inside the probe, and all parameter settings are stored in the probe.
The SN-D-2 has a relatively light weight, making it an ideal instrument for directly measuring the surrounding stoichiometric quantities inside the nuclear island during reactor shutdown and during spent fuel transportation. The specially designed tripod can meet various weights and heights, supporting users to remotely operate instruments in safe areas, in compliance with ALARA principles.
The measurement range of SN-D-2 starts from 300nSv/h and can control neutron public restrictions within one minute. Most CSP smart probes can improve MDA by using calibration timers. The measurement range is up to 100mSv/h, meeting the requirements for occupational dose rate monitoring in radiation control areas.
