Overview

The directional air distribution valve and main air valve of SK40/3XAA/EEE/0B0 pneumatic diaphragm pump are located in the center of the pump, forming the "air chamber". The medium flows through two manifolds and the outer diaphragm chamber of the pump, becoming the "medium chamber". Usually, check valves (ball valves) are installed at the top and bottom of each outer diaphragm chamber, usually sharing a common manifold. These two outer diaphragm chambers are connected to the inlet and outlet ports, and the pump is self-priming.

During pump operation, the compressed air distribution valve alternately changes the direction of operation of the main air valve, forming air flow pulses in the chamber and automatically changing positions, allowing the air to switch to another diaphragm chamber, resulting in alternating suction and compression strokes on both sides of the diaphragm chamber. The diaphragm moves in a parallel path, and the air valve does not require lubrication, which requires clean and dry air to improve the performance of the pump. When the medium passes through the pump, the check valve opens and closes alternately, which causes each outer diaphragm chamber to be filled and ejected alternately, and the check valve responds to the pressure difference. Ball check valves can handle media containing small particles.
When the air distribution valve allows compressed air to enter the left diaphragm chamber, the diaphragm is compressed and pushed out, forming a compression stroke. The medium in the compression section is forced to leave the left outer diaphragm chamber, check valve, and manifold, and then flows out from the pump outlet. The discharge port is located at the top of the pump. When the left diaphragm is pushed out under pressure, the diaphragm connecting rod pulls the right diaphragm inward to form a suction stroke, so that the medium fills the outer diaphragm chamber on the right side. The medium flows into the pump at the inlet and fills the chamber through an open inlet check valve. After this cycle is completed, the air distribution valve will automatically change position, causing the air to switch to another diaphragm chamber and repeat the above cycle in reverse. The two diaphragm chambers exhibit alternating pressure and suction actions.
