The selection of raw materials for laser cutting flange blank blind plate discs is based on matching the requirements of the flange's usage scenarios, with a focus on the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and processing adaptability of the materials.
When choosing, the main focus is on the following three key dimensions:
1. Select materials according to the usage scenario: This is the primary principle.
-Ordinary industrial scenarios (such as low-pressure pipelines): Q235 steel is preferred as it has low cost, is easy to cut, and can meet the basic strength requirements.
-High voltage/load-bearing scenarios (such as mechanical connections): Choose Q355 steel or alloy structural steel, which has higher tensile strength and yield strength, and stronger load-bearing capacity.
-Corrosion environment (such as chemical and water treatment): Choose stainless steel (such as 304, 316), rely on chromium nickel elements to form an oxide film, and resist acid and alkali corrosion.
2. Select specifications according to processing requirements: Laser cutting has clear requirements for sheet specifications.
-Thickness: Determine according to the nominal pressure and size of the flange design. Low pressure small flanges can choose 6-20mm thin plates, while high-pressure flanges require thick plates of 20mm or more, and the thick plates must ensure no internal cracks (to avoid deformation after cutting).
-Flatness: The flatness of the board must meet the standard (such as the ordinary precision of the national standard GB/T 709), otherwise thermal deformation during laser cutting will cause dimensional deviation of the flange blank.
3. Select raw material status according to quality standards:
-Priority should be given to hot-rolled steel plates, which have a thinner surface oxide layer and are less likely to produce slag during laser cutting, which can reduce subsequent polishing processes;
-It is necessary to confirm the chemical composition report and mechanical property testing report of the raw materials, avoid using "ground bar steel" with high sulfur and phosphorus content, and prevent brittle cracking during cutting
