The TX500 Rotating Drop Ultra Low Interface Tension Meter is a professional interface tension meter from the United States. The TX500C series is a classic rotating drop ultra-low interface tension meter based on the innovative technologies of the American company, such as the detachable sample tube and the integral aluminum alloy block heating system. It has independent operation of the host and dual software control functions, making it easy to operate. It can analyze interface tension values as low as 10-6mN/m, analyze dynamic interface tension values, as well as oscillation drops, viscoelastic coefficients, interface rheology, expansion properties, etc. It can be widely used in industries such as daily chemical products, oil field tertiary recovery, microemulsions, surfactants, etc.
Ultra low interfacial tension of rotating droplets:
The increase in free energy per unit interface area under constant temperature and pressure is called interfacial tension. This system originates from the different attractive forces of molecules on both sides of the interface towards the molecules on the interface. Different from typical interfacial tension testing, the rotating drop testing technique can analyze low interfacial tension, while conventional methods such as platinum plate method and platinum ring method cannot achieve such measurements.
Usually, we refer to the interfacial tension of 10-2-10-1mN/m as low interfacial tension, while the interfacial tension below 10-3mN/m is called ultra-low interfacial tension.
To determine ultra-low interfacial tension, it is necessary to artificially alter the balance between gravity and interfacial tension of the system, so that the droplet at equilibrium is closer to the ideal shape for measuring interfacial tension values. This can be achieved by rotating the system and increasing the effect of the centrifugal force field. This is the principle of ultra-low interfacial tension testing for rotating droplets.
