Product Details

The Rosemount 8800 MultiVariable Vortex Flow Meter integrates temperature and flow devices into a single high-precision instrument, allowing you to install these two devices independently without incurring high costs. Due to the use of a non liquid sensing sensor design, shutdown maintenance or repair is no longer a problem for this flowmeter.
Using MultiVariable in saturated steam applications ™ Vortex flow meters can eliminate external temperature compensation, thus saving up to 30% of costs per installation.
Integrated temperature sensor achieves temperature compensation and mass flow rate for saturated steam
The temperature sensor is detachable, thus eliminating the need for process shutdown for temperature sensor calibration or replacement
Mass flow rate, volume flow rate, or temperature can be used as configurable outputs to provide reliable and cost-effective steam measurement
Reduce costs and improve performance
The accuracy of measuring saturated steam with uncompensated vortex street instruments is average, while externally compensated vortex street instruments are very expensive. The Rosemount MultiVariable vortex flowmeter is cost-effective and has higher accuracy.
Rosemount Reducer Vortex Flow Meter Technology
Due to seasonal or process requirements, many steam applications require the use of low flow meters. Most of the measurement range of traditional vortex flowmeters belongs to the high-speed range. Due to the small flow cutoff, it is easy to miss measurements when measuring low flow. The reducer vortex flowmeter uses a smaller instrument body to achieve the required measurement range, thereby solving this problem and allowing you to capture steam consumption at very low flow rates.
Improve factory availability
Emerson integrates temperature sensors into the MultiVariable vortex instrument body, which is isolated from the process and separated from the vortex sensor. This facilitates independent calibration or replacement of each sensor without damaging the process seal.
Due to the ability to transmit additional measured and calculated variables back to the control system for improved process control and monitoring, the factory availability is further increased. Variables can be assigned to 4-20 mA output, HART output, or optional pulse output.
Reduce maintenance costs
Due to the use of a single flow sensor for all calibers without the need for gaskets, and the use of a backup temperature sensor for all calibers, maintenance costs are reduced.
Enhance safety and environmental compliance
The MultiVariable vortex flowmeter improves safety and environmental compliance by preventing direct contact between the flow sensor and temperature sensor and the process fluid. As a result, many additional gaskets and seals required in other designs are no longer needed.

Equipment diagnosis makes verification and troubleshooting easier
Each vortex flowmeter is equipped with an integrated signal generator as standard, which can perform simple electronic component calibration
• Can also easily receive external frequency sources
The diagnostic program continuously monitors the operating status of the temperature sensor
The Rosemount 8800 MultiVariable vortex flowmeter is suitable for measuring liquids, gases, and vapors. In addition to providing multiple independent outputs and temperature compensated mass flow outputs for saturated steam, the MultiVariable vortex flowmeter also has all the important functions of a standard 8800D flowmeter.
Application of MultiVariable Vortex Flow Meter
Temperature compensated mass flow rate of saturated steam
In flow computers or control systems, temperature and volumetric flow output are used as independent compensation variables
Volume flow rate is the main output, while temperature output is used for monitoring applications (especially when installing separate temperature sensors and transmitters is not cost-effective)
