Product Details

The Rosemount 5300 series is an excellent 2-wire guided wave radar (GWR) transmitter used for complex liquid/material level and interface measurements in liquids, slurries, and solids. It utilizes our 30-year proven radar expertise and is designed to increase the factory's revenue. The 5300 has all the advantages you expect from a first-class process radar, including excellent reliability, first-class safety, easy operability, and unlimited connectivity.
Compared with other 2-wire guided wave radar transmitters, direct switch technology has stronger radar signals, providing better measurement performance and reliability.
The end detection function of the waveguide rod can also perform long-distance measurements in products with very low dielectric properties.
The verification reflector function allows for easy and safe testing of transmitter integrity from the control room.
Improving EMC performance through intelligent current interface to enhance safety.
Easy integration into new or existing factory control networks, with the option to have stacked HART, Modbus output, or FOUNDATION ™ The 4-20 mA solution of fieldbus for comprehensive support of PlantWeb ® Alarm (in English).
A powerful and easy-to-use configuration tool (in English).
We offer a full range of waveguide rods, covering almost all applications, including those used for harsh working conditions such as extreme temperatures and pressures.
The powerful modular design and MultivariableTM configuration of the radar transmitter reduce costs and improve safety.
Almost unaffected by application conditions such as dust, steam, and disruptive obstacles.
According to IEC61508, SIL2 certification is passed in single use mode, and SIL3 certification is passed in redundant mode
Rosemount 9901- High Quality Bypass Tube for Process Level Instruments
Guided wave radar is a continuous liquid level measurement technology with multiple advantages. It is almost unaffected by temperature, pressure, and steam gas mixtures. It has no movable parts, so it requires little or no maintenance. It can directly measure liquid level, so it is not affected by most liquid property changes, including but not limited to density and viscosity changes. In addition, the Rosemount 5300 series also has the following advantages:
Obtain higher measurement reliability and performance, and shorten process downtime through the following points
Direct switch technology
Terminal detection function of waveguide rod
Intelligent current interface
Advanced echo logic judgment and diagnostic function
Durable and sturdy design reduces operating costs and improves safety
Dual chamber aluminum or stainless steel casing with integrated heat sink
Interchangeable transmitter heads, no need to open the tank and no need to match between the transmitter head and the waveguide rod
No mechanical movable parts and no need for recalibration
Simple debugging operations reduce startup costs, achieved through the following points
Sending multiple variable parameters, liquid levels, and interface information from the same transmitter
User friendly configuration tool with measurement learning function, Rosemount Radar Master
The shell can rotate in any direction
Easy to operate wiring terminals and powered by a circuit
Single component, can be quickly installed
Existing tank nozzles and cables can be used
In addition, 5300 also has great application flexibility.
The Rosemount 5300 series is suitable for all types of industrial industries, including oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, electricity, and water treatment. The Rosemount 5300 provides high-performance radar level measurement for various applications in these industries. The combination of the 5300 guided wave radar signal principle and innovative manufacturing processes makes it almost unaffected by process conditions and has almost no installation restrictions. Combining liquid level measurement and interface measurement
A 5300 transmitter can simultaneously measure the upper liquid level surface and lower product interface of storage tanks with two types of products (such as separators, settling tanks, etc.). This reduces the number of openings in the storage tank. Use a 5300 transmitter with a single cable/pole for reliable interface measurement in crude oil and other liquids that are prone to accumulation.
Better measurement performance in liquefied gas applications
The Rosemount 5300 requires almost no maintenance and is not affected by turbulence and steam, making it an ideal choice for liquefied gas applications. The transmitter head can be maintained without opening the can. Excellent performance enables reliable operation in LNG, NGL, LPG, and anhydrous ammonia storage tanks.
Advantages of using underground storage tanks
The waveguide rod is not affected by high or narrow openings or nearby interferences. This makes 5300 an ideal choice for underground storage tanks with limited installation areas.
Minimize risks in the most extreme environments
The guided wave radar technology in 5300 includes multiple layers of protection to ensure stable performance in applications such as high-temperature and high-pressure storage tanks and bypass pipes, refinery distillation towers, and power feedwater tanks. Measurement is not affected by density changes, low reflection media, or mechanical structures of bypass pipes and nozzles.
Solid state measurement performance
The Rosemount 5303 is equipped with a flexible single cable waveguide rod that can measure solid material levels with a dielectric constant as low as 1.4. The measurement range can reach 160 ft (50 m), and the transmitter has strong EMI performance. At the same time, there are special waveguide rods available for selection under heavy load conditions. 5300 can measure solids such as powders, particles, plastics, etc., such as PVC, cement, fly ash, grains, etc.
Measurement in containers with turbulence, steam, and mechanical structural interferences
The Rosemount 5300 can provide continuous liquid level data, which other products cannot achieve. By using direct switching technology, the strength of the echo signal reflected back from the liquid surface is 2-5 times that of other guided wave radars. Therefore, under measurement conditions with interferences, waveguide coating, steam, and turbulence, 5300 is the best choice.
Accuracy in saturated steam applications
Saturated steam under high pressure slows down the propagation of radar waves, resulting in incorrect distance information. In addition, the constantly changing pressure and/or temperature make measurement very difficult. The Rosemount 5300 has Dynamic Vapor Compensation (DVC) function, which can automatically compensate for steam and ensure liquid level accuracy.
Liquid level gauge installed on bypass pipe
Guided wave radar is an ideal choice for measuring bypass pipes. It is not affected by density changes or bypass pipe structures, and has no movable parts, thus minimizing maintenance work to the greatest extent possible. This makes it a simple and reliable ideal alternative to float technology.
