I. Overview
R&S ® The NGM200 DC power supply has high precision and fast load recovery time. With the help of a dual quadrant architecture, a DC power source can be used as both the source and sink to simulate batteries and loads. With the help of the quick recovery function, R&S ® NGM200 can cope with rapid load changes that occur when mobile communication devices switch between sleep and transmit modes. Fast data collection and convenient battery simulation make the power supply suitable for more applications:
-Battery testing
-Simulate voltage drop
-Power consumption test
-Power supply for sensitive designs
You can use our online configuration program to select the basic unit and all options in order to choose the power supply you need. 3、 Features and advantages
(1) Battery simulation equipped with R&S ® NGM-K106
The characteristics of batteries vary depending on their type and charging status. Important battery characteristics include capacitance, open circuit voltage (Voc), and equivalent series resistance (ESR), all of which depend on the state of charge (SoC) of the battery. With the help of R&S ® The NGM-K106 option allows users to simulate the characteristics of a battery under different charging states, such as when supplying power to the device under test.

Summarize and display the main parameters representing battery condition on the same display screen
(2) Fast collection, FastLog function
R&S ® The NGM200 power supply has FastLog fast acquisition function, which can collect voltage and current measurement results. The result data can be stored in an external USB storage device or transferred to an external computer via USB or LAN. The collection rate is up to 500 ksample/s, supporting the collection of voltage and current results every 2 μ s. Dual channel R&S ® NGM202 can collect data in parallel in two channels. For microsecond peak events that cannot be detected by instruments with low acquisition rates, the power supply can also smoothly collect them through the fast acquisition function and detect small/large values.

The FastLog function can collect voltage/current changes with a resolution of up to 2 μ s. This feature supports detecting peak events that may be overlooked by instruments with lower acquisition rates
(3) Digital voltmeter function, equipped with R&S ® NGM-K104
Like other power sources, R&S ® NGM200 can measure the voltage provided to the device under test. R& ® The NGM-K104 option can activate the port and support connecting the internal digital voltmeter to any other measurement point on the user circuit. Usually, there is no need to use an additional digital multimeter.

DVM - R&S ® The NGM200 power supply is equipped with an internal digital voltmeter that can be measured at any measurement point on the user's circuit
(4) 6 1/2 bit resolution, replacing additional digital multimeters
When measuring voltage, current, and power, R&S ® The NGM200 power series has a resolution of up to 6 1/2 bits, making it ideal for measuring the characteristics of devices with low power consumption in standby mode and high current during full load operation. It supports two voltage measurement ranges and four current measurement ranges, with measurement accuracy and resolution up to 1 µ V/10 nA.

Display the measured current and voltage at a resolution of 6 1/2 bits
(5) Fast load regulation to cope with rapid load changes
IoT devices and other consumer electronic devices have low power consumption in sleep mode. However, once these devices switch to transmit mode, the current will suddenly increase. The power supply used for these tested devices must be able to handle load changes from microamperes to amperes without generating voltage drops or overshoot.

When dealing with sudden load changes, the power supply usually experiences overshoot and has a longer recovery time. R&S ® The NGM200 power supply adopts a specially optimized control circuit, with a recovery time of less than 30 µ s
(6) Residual ripple and low noise<500 µ V(rms)/< 2 mV (peak to peak)
Advanced electronic circuits are typically very complex and highly sensitive to power line interference. In order to provide interference free voltage to sensitive devices under test, the power supply must provide stable output voltage and current. The power supply must avoid all ripples and noise. R&S ® The NGM200 power supply has linear adjustment function and is suitable for sensitive tested equipment.
(7) Dual quadrant operation, used as the source and absorption ends
With the help of a dual quadrant architecture, the power supply can be used as both the source and sink to simulate a battery or load. The power supply can automatically switch from source mode to absorption mode. Once the external application voltage exceeds the set nominal voltage, current will flow into the power supply. A negative current reading indicates this.

In this example, channel 2 acts as a load. A negative current reading indicates this
