The function of a servo valve is to convert the low-power control electrical signal input to the system into the movement of the valve core, which in turn controls the pressure energy (pressure and flow) flowing to the hydraulic actuator, achieving the conversion and amplification of the electro-hydraulic signal and precise control of the hydraulic actuator. Servo valve is the core component of electro-hydraulic servo system.

Characteristics of servo valves: Servo valves organically combine precision machinery, electronic technology, and hydraulic technology, with high control accuracy, fast response, small size, compact structure, high power amplification factor, good linearity, small dead zone, high sensitivity, and high dynamic performance. It has been widely applied in various hydraulic servo systems.

Input a current command signal to the line of the torque motor will generate an electromagnetic force on both ends of the armature, which will drive the baffle in the spring tube to deflect. The deflection of the baffle will reduce the flow rate of a certain nozzle, thereby changing the pressure on the valve core side connected to this nozzle, pushing the main valve core to move towards the - side.

The displacement of the valve core opens a channel between the oil supply port and one control port, communicating with another control port and the return port. At the same time, the displacement of the valve core also exerts a force on the spring rod, which forms a restoring torque on the armature baffle assembly. When this restoring torque is combined with the electromagnetic force of the torque motor acting on the armature baffle When the moment phase is in equilibrium, the baffle returns to zero position, and the main valve core remains in the open position of this equilibrium state until the given input signal changes.

In summary, the displacement of the valve core is proportional to the magnitude of the input current signal. Under a constant valve pressure drop, the load flow through the valve is proportional to the displacement of the valve core.
