Testing method for steam trap valve

The type of steam trap valve is different, and the detection method will also be different. Therefore, before testing the drain valve, it is necessary to first understand the situation of the steam system where the drain valve is located, the drainage method and basic principles of the drain valve.

Determine if the steam trap is leaking or blocked:

The detection frequency of the instrument is set to25kHzFor instruments that cannot be tuned, no setting is required. Use a contact probe to detect the upstream side of the steam trap, adjust the detection sensitivity until the headphones hear clear sound quality.

Then, check the downstream side of the steam trap valve to observe the intensity of the instrument's ultrasonic signal and the pattern of sound. The intermittent drainage drain valve allows headphones to receive a rhythmic sound pattern of "close drain close". If a continuous sound of airflow is received, it indicates that the drain valve is leaking, causing continuous energy waste. If the sound level is very low (compared to other drain valves under the same operating conditions), it indicates that the drain valve is closed, blocked, or not in operation.
