Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) works based on the principle of electromagnetic wave pulses propagating underground. The transmitting antenna sends high-frequency (106-109Hz or higher) electromagnetic waves into the ground in the form of broadband short pulses, which are reflected by the underground medium (or buried object) and then received by the receiving antenna.
According to electromagnetic wave theory, when radar pulses propagate underground and encounter interfaces with different electrical media, refraction and reflection occur due to the different electromagnetic characteristics of the upper and lower media.
Use the corresponding radar data processing software to process the data. Preprocessing, gain adjustment, filtering, and other methods were applied to the data file for processing and mapping. The final result map is obtained to determine the plan position and burial depth of the underground pipeline.
