Overview

Cutting performance: The cutting performance is better than H63, which gives it certain advantages in machining and manufacturing, suitable for making parts with high cutting requirements, such as special materials for tire valve manufacturing. $r $n $r $n Mechanical properties: As it is lead brass, adding lead element to ordinary brass will change its mechanical properties due to the addition of alloying elements. However, different processing states (such as cold deformation processing, hot deformation processing) and factors such as zinc content can also affect its mechanical properties. Generally speaking, brass has different mechanical properties depending on the zinc content. For alpha brass, as the zinc content increases, the tensile strength (σ b) and ductility also vary

Product Details

Related information on C34900 lead brass

1、 Chemical composition

Main ingredients:

Copper (Cu): content between 61.5-63.5%.

Lead (Pb): content is 0.05-0.3%.

May contain small amounts of other elements such as aluminum (Al), antimony (Sb), bismuth (Bi), phosphorus (P), etc., with specific content limitations.

2、 Performance characteristics

Cutting performance: The cutting performance is better than H63, which gives it certain advantages in machining and manufacturing, suitable for making parts with high cutting requirements, such as special materials for tire valve manufacturing.

Mechanical properties: As it is lead brass, adding lead element to ordinary brass will change its mechanical properties due to the addition of alloy elements. However, different processing states (such as cold deformation processing, hot deformation processing) and factors such as zinc content can also affect its mechanical properties. Generally speaking, the mechanical properties of brass vary depending on the zinc content. For alpha brass, as the zinc content increases, the tensile strength (σ b) and elongation (δ) continue to improve; For (α+β) brass, before the zinc content increases to about 45%, the room temperature strength continuously increases, but the room temperature plasticity always decreases with the increase of zinc content.

III. Purpose

Industrial sector:

Automotive parts: used to make components such as tires, valves, etc., with their excellent cutting performance, they can meet the production process requirements.

Mechanical manufacturing: It may be widely used in the manufacturing of mechanical parts that require cutting processing, such as some small hardware parts.

Precision manufacturing: It can be used to manufacture components such as electronics, telecommunications, electrical connectors, and connectors that require high dimensional accuracy and surface quality. It is also suitable for bathing water heaters, liners, handicrafts, building materials, chemical industry, electrical terminals, and other fields. Due to its high strength, dense and uniform structure, good corrosion resistance, excellent machining performance such as cutting and drilling, and the characteristics of uniform and fine copper chips and smooth machining surfaces, it is suitable for high-speed automatic machining.

Clock manufacturing: Lead can improve the cutting performance of brass, which is commonly used as a free cutting brass component for clocks.

Valves and pipeline fittings: Brass castings are commonly used to make valves and pipeline fittings, etc.

4、 Classification related

In the classification of brass:

Brass can be divided into simple brass and complex brass. C34900 lead brass belongs to complex brass, which is a multi-element alloy composed of lead elements added to ordinary brass. In complex brass, there are also alloys named after other third components, such as nickel brass, silicon brass, etc.

From the perspective of dividing copper alloys into alloy series, China and Russia classify alloy copper into brass, bronze, and white copper, etc. C34900 lead brass belongs to the brass category.
