The function of the stroboscope

A stroboscope, also known as a strobe still or tachometer, strobe light, etc., can emit brief and frequent flashes of light. Adjust the flashing frequency of the stroboscope so that it is close to (or synchronized with) the rotational (or motion) speed of the object being tested. Although the object is moving at high speed, it appears to be moving slowly or relatively stationary. By utilizing this visual persistence phenomenon, the human eye can easily observe the surface quality and operating conditions of the high-speed moving object, and the flashing frequency of the stroboscope is the rotational speed or motion frequency of the object being tested (such as a motor). It is also possible to use a stroboscope to analyze object vibration, observe the movements of high-speed moving objects, and take high-speed photographs.

The duration of the flash of the strobe and the relative brightness of the light will affect the clarity of the image. The longer the duration of the flash, the more blurry the image.

It is recommended that the flash brightness of the stroboscope be about 4 times the brightness of the surrounding environment.
