The VitroFlo system is developed byComposition of microfluidic cell culture plate and rocker mechanismThe changes in channel geometry, membrane porosity, and channel spacing of the culture plate support multiple models and cell types. The programmable joystick mechanism can achieve various medium flow conditions and fluid shear rates.
The cultivation plate in the VitroFlo application includes paired culture medium containers connected by one or more microfluidic channels to form aCirculating flow poolThe culture plate is compatible with both manual and automatic liquid handling and imaging systems.
Shaking the VitroFlo plate will flow through the microfluidic cell culture channel in one direction and through the bypass channel in the other direction. The result is a controlled, nearly continuous unidirectional flow and shear rate of cultured cells. like thisCan provide nutrition, remove waste, and stimulate cells.
The VitroFlo board hasThe second microfluidic channel is separated from the flow channel by a thin porous membraneThis channel can be used to cultivate a second cell type or monitor the transport of cells crossing the channel. By combining two cell culture channels with multiple fluid conditions, the VitroFlo system can be used for a wide range of applications. 2D flow
Unidirectional laminar flow through a 2mm wide microfluidic channel. Fluid shear rate up to 11 dynes/cm2.

2D/2D co culture
The upper and lower channels are separated by a thin porous membrane. Cells can be cultured on both sides of the membrane and accessed from separate ports.

2D/3D co culture
The lower channel can be composed of hydrogel with cell suspension. Controlled flow occurs in the upper channel.
