All ultrasonic thickness gauges should calibrate the sound velocity based on the material being tested. Coatings have different sound velocities relative to metals, and the thickness of the coating is not included in the measurement. The pulse method can ensure that the thickness of the coating is completely excluded from the measurement. Measure the thickness of the metal layer under the corrosion layer or coating, and all measurement data are passed through3Verify the secondary echo to obtain reproducible and accurate measurement results. Using multiple wave technology,The reading is obtained by measuring the time difference between three ultrasound return waves.T1The time is ignored,T2andT3The time for penetrating the metal layer is the same.
