Product Details

Monosomy3Uveal Melanoma Lines reagent

Monosomy3Uveal Melanoma Lines reagent

The UPMM-1 and UPMM-2 cell lines are derived from different donors of primary uveal melanoma tumors with monocytes.

emphasize:

  • Melanoma markers HMB45, S100, and MCSP cells are positive
  • UPMM-1-Monosomy 3; GNAQ, R183 mutation (retaining the status of chromosome 3 in the primary tumor)
  • UPMM-2-Monosomy 3; GNAQ, Q209 mutation (chromosome 3 has been duplicated (allelic cleavage) and exists in the background of subtetraploid karyotype)

Uveal melanoma (UM) is an eye cancer (melanoma) that involves the iris, ciliary body, or choroid (collectively referred to as the choroid). Tumors originate from pigment cells (melanocytes) within the choroid, which color the eyes. The main UM can be divided into two main categories. Metastatic progression is typically observed in a type of UM characterized by monosomy 3, but is rarely seen in tumors with trisomy 3. Therefore, the 3rd monomeric cell line is suitable for analyzing the mechanisms and pathways leading to metastatic progression. There is a huge market demand, as currently only one alternative cell line, Unit 3, is available
