Overview
The mirror condensation method water activity meter determines the dew point temperature by cooling the mirror in the sample chamber until condensation occurs and recording the temperature of the mirror at that point. The saturated vapor pressure (P) can be obtained by looking up the dew point temperature in a table. The ratio of this saturated vapor pressure (P) to the saturated vapor pressure of pure water (P0) is the water activity (aw=P/P0)

Mirror condensation method water activity meter

The dew point temperature is determined by cooling the mirror in the sample chamber until condensation occurs and recording the temperature of the mirror at that point. The saturated vapor pressure (P) can be obtained by checking the dew point temperature table. The ratio of this saturated vapor pressure (P) to the saturated vapor pressure of pure water (P0) is the water activity (aw=P/P0)
