MIDORI Green Advance is a safe alternative to traditional nucleic acid staining agent ethidium bromide (EB), with sensitivity similar to ethidium bromide (Br). Like EB, in the gel dissolution preparation step, Midori Green Advance is directly added to the fused agarose. Therefore, there is no need to change the current protocol of the laboratory. Ethidium bromide (EB) is one of the hazardous and overlooked materials in the laboratory. MIDORI Green Advance is a non carcinogenic and low mutagenic dye that detects dsDNA, ssDNA and RNA in agarose gel with high sensitivity. In the cutting and recycling experiment, MIDORIGreen Advance can also be used in combination with ultraviolet light or blue/green LED, which will not cause nucleic acid cross-linking caused by ultraviolet light.
Product Features
• Intragel staining of DNA/RNA in agarose gel
• Non toxic, non carcinogenic
•Safe alternatives to ethidium bromide
• High fluorescence
• Ultraviolet radiation

Compare the sensitivity of MIDORI Green Advance (left green) and Ethidium Bromide (right red) using blue/green LED transmissive illumination
MIDORI Green Advance exhibits high sensitivity even for smaller DNA fragments. The dilution ratio of MIDORI Green Advance can reach up to 1:25000. Therefore, for 100 mL agarose gel, 4 μ L to 6 μ L is enough. Every 1mL of MIDORI Green Advance can be configured with about 17L to 25L agarose gel (for industrial customers).

Three makes a happy family
The MIDORI Green core molecule has been formulated into three different green fluorescent dyes, which can be optimized according to your laboratory needs. Firstly, MIDORI Green Advance has excellent signal-to-noise ratio and reliable sensitivity even for shorter nucleic acid fragments. Before gel running, MIDORI Green Advance was added to the agarose gel (the same as EB). When visualized by blue LED or Nippon Genetics' blue/green LED technology, its detection sensitivity was comparable to EB. The second is MIDORI Green Direct, which is designed to mix with your sample and add the sample to the dye free gel hole (no dye is required for glue preparation). MIDORI Green Direct contains loading dyes and can detect nucleic acid fragments similar (or even slightly better) to MIDORI Green Advance. The member of this family is MIDORI Green Xtra. Like Advance, add Xtra to the melted agarose and buffer solution. Its chemical structure is optimized for blue/green and blue LED lights, so that DNA and RNA fluorescence signals are generated in agarose gel. MIDORI Green Advance and MIDORI Green Direct dyes are compatible with ultraviolet radiation, but their efficiency is slightly lower when using ultraviolet radiation instead of non-destructive visible excitation light from LEDs. For the laboratory, the most important thing is that MIDORI Green Xtra does not pollute the agarose gel, so it has excellent signal to noise ratio. Xtra can even detect the smallest amount of DNA or RNA (and certainly better than EB) - it is not only a substitute for EB, but also an upgrade.
