Overview
Metallographic grinding is the process of using metallographic sandpaper to achieve the rough grinding to fine grinding of the sample. Rough grinding mainly obtains an initial plane and can eliminate the cutting stress deformation layer and fracture zone; Medium and fine grinding mainly remove the stress and scratches generated by the previous grinding and polishing process. As the particle size of the abrasive increases, the depth of damage decreases, and the grinding efficiency also decreases. $r $n metallographic grinding should be wet grinding. During wet grinding, the heat generated by the sample is small, and the grinding particles are not easily embedded in the prepared sample, making it more suitable for metallographic grinding.
