Overview
The fully automatic metallographic embedding machine is an important tool for modern metallographic laboratories to achieve standardization, efficiency, and intelligence. It significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of metallographic analysis by transforming tedious manual operations into stable and reliable automated processes.
Product Details
The fully automatic metallographic embedding machine is a key equipment in the preparation process of metallographic specimens. It is used to encapsulate irregular, small, or difficult to hold samples (such as metals, ceramics, electronic components, etc.) into a standard sized cylindrical or rectangular specimen using specific embedding materials (usually thermosetting plastics or thermoplastic plastics) under heating and pressure conditions.
Metallographic embedding machine belongs to the pre grinding and polishing process, which embeds small, difficult to handle or irregular metallographic and lithological samples. After embedding, it facilitates the grinding and polishing operation of the samples, and is also conducive to correctly observing the material structure under the metallographic microscope and testing the hardness of the material on the hardness tester. Adopting hand cranked mechanical pressurization, the heating temperature is controlled by a digital temperature controller, with stable and reliable performance, easy operation, and sample embedding. This machine's inlay material is limited to thermosetting materials, and the pressing temperature for different thermosetting materials can be adjusted and customized according to the material.

The fully automatic metallographic embedding machine simulates and optimizes the traditional manual embedding process, achieving full automation. The basic workflow is as follows:
1. Sample placement: The operator places the sample on the lower mold, ensuring that the side to be observed is facing downwards and tightly attached to the bottom of the mold cavity.
2. Adding inlay material: The machine automatically measures and adds the required inlay powder from the hopper (or puts it into a prefabricated inlay material column).
3. Mold closing and heating: The upper mold descends and closes the mold cavity. The machine begins to heat up, causing the inlay material to melt.
4. Pressure and curing: After reaching the set temperature, the machine applies stable pressure to compact the melted inlay material and maintain it for a period of time to fully crosslink and cure (for thermosetting resins such as phenolic resins).
5. Cooling and demolding: Heating stops and the cooling system starts (usually air-cooled or water-cooled) to quickly cool and shape the inlay block. Then the upper mold is lifted, the lower mold is pushed out, and the completed inlay block is automatically pushed out.
6. Cleaning the mold cavity (optional): Some models have the function of automatically cleaning the mold cavity to prepare for the next sample.
