Purpald-Periodate 法

Reference: Purpald developed by Aldrich Chemical Company ® - The periodate method, Fritz, James S. and Schenk, George H., Mass Chemical Analysis, 4th edition, p. 277 (1979).

In colorimetric method, periodic acid oxidizes ethylene glycol and propylene glycol to formaldehyde, which then reacts with Purpald in alkaline solution. The measurement results obtained by visual and instrumental methods are expressed in ppm ethylene glycol or propylene glycol. All measurement tools come with a conversion factor, which is used to convert the measurement results into results in units of ethylene glycol. This testing method requires less operation time than the standard colorimetric acid analysis method. Shelf life: 5 months, we recommend using within 4 months for quality preservation.
