Overview
The injection water distribution system usually consists of a pure water storage tank, a circulation pump, one or more circulation pipelines, and different user points. The size of the pure water storage tank should be in line with the peak flow rate of pure water, which has a certain balance relationship with the water production capacity of the purified water equipment. The flow rate of the circulating pump should be greater than the sum of the peak flow rate and the reflux flow rate. Online related instruments detect water quality, and once the water quality falls below customer requirements, an alarm will be triggered.

Key points of purified water distribution system

(1) The Chinese Pharmacopoeia requires that the storage, distribution, and transportation systems of purified water, as a hygienic and clean material, should be designed and constructed according to the standards of hygiene grade products.

(2) The pumps, valves, pipelines, and fittings used in the entire purified water storage and transportation system of the purified water distribution system should be sanitary, and the connection method should also be card type quick opening. There should be no dead corners or stagnant areas in the purified water distribution system, and the average roughness Ra of the inner surface of the components in contact with the purified water should be ≤ 0.4 μ m.

(3) Purified water should be recycled, and intermediate storage tanks should not be installed in the circuit to prevent microbial growth. When heating or cooling purified water during use, it is advisable to use a double tube plate heat exchanger and install it as close to the point of use as possible.

(4) In order to prevent the growth of microorganisms on the surface of purified water storage tanks, pipelines, and filter membranes, ozone generators and ultraviolet disinfection devices should be installed in the purified water distribution system to disinfect the purified water and monitor it to ensure that the purified water meets GMP standards during distribution and transportation.

(5) Add an air-water mixer in the purified water distribution and transportation system to mix the ozone generated by the ozone (O3) generator with the purified water evenly. The mixer circulates in the distribution system and relies on ozone to disinfect the purified water. At the same time, the trace amount of ozone (O3) dissolved in the purified water also disinfects the inner walls, valves, pipe fittings, etc. of the pipeline during circulation, effectively preventing the growth of microorganisms inside the system.
