Inconel 601 stainless steel rodIt is a nickel chromium based solid solution strengthened alloy rod mainly composed of nickel, chromium, and iron. It has excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties, and is suitable for harsh environments in aerospace, chemical, energy, and other fields.
1、 Core Features
High temperature oxidation resistance: Inconel601 can form a dense oxide film at high temperatures (up to 1180 ℃), effectively preventing further oxidation, especially exhibiting high resistance to peeling during heating and cooling cycles.
The corrosion resistance in a cyclic oxidation and carbonization environment at 1100 ℃ is superior to alloys such as SUS310S and Alloy800.
Corrosion resistance: It exhibits excellent oxidation resistance in sulfur-containing atmospheres and is suitable for corrosive media in chemical, petroleum and other fields.
It has uniform corrosion resistance to acids such as H ₂ SO ₄, HCl, HF, and is currently one of the alloys with better resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion. However, its resistance to intergranular corrosion is not as good as C4 alloy.
Mechanical properties: It has good mechanical properties at both room temperature and high temperature, including high tensile strength, yield strength, and ductility.
Cold processing can strengthen materials, but heat treatment (such as annealing) has a significant impact on mechanical properties and microstructure. The optimal annealing temperature is 1000 ℃~1100 ℃, and the processing time is 1-4 hours.
Thermal stability: Maintain structural and performance stability for a long time at high temperatures, suitable for applications with frequent temperature changes.
It has high creep fracture strength, especially recommended for use in fields above 500 ℃.
2、 Chemical composition
Nickel (Ni): 58%~63%, endowing the alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature stability.
Chromium (Cr): 21%~25%, enhances oxidation resistance and corrosiveness.
Aluminum (Al): 1.0%~1.7%, synergizes with chromium to enhance high-temperature oxidation resistance.
Iron (Fe): Excess, enhances strength and toughness.
Other elements: Manganese (Mn) ≤ 1.00%, Silicon (Si) ≤ 0.50%, Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.030%, Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.015%, Carbon (C) ≤ 0.1%.

Manufacturing components for gas turbine engines, such as combustion chambers, nozzles, and guide vanes.
Used for jet engine igniters, combustion tank liners, and diffuser components.

4、 Processing and Welding
Forming and processing:
The temperature range for hot processing is 870 ℃~1230 ℃, with large deformation occurring between 1040 ℃~1230 ℃.
The cold working effect is good, but the machinability is worse than austenitic stainless steel. It is recommended to use superhard tools and adjust the cutting parameters.
Welding: TIG welding, MIG welding, and manual arc welding can be used. Mechanical cutting is recommended for groove processing, and U-shaped and V-shaped groove angles should be as large as possible.
Clean the surface before welding to avoid contamination.
Heat treatment:
It does not belong to precipitation hardening alloys and cannot be age hardened through heat treatment.
The solid solution treatment temperature is 1100 ℃~1150 ℃, and the cooling method is water cooling or air cooling (adjusted according to the plate thickness).
5、 Purchase suggestions
Clear requirements: Select appropriate specifications and surface treatments (such as bright bars, black bars) based on the application scenario (such as temperature, pressure, medium).
Pay attention to materials: Confirm whether the nickel and chromium content and impurity elements (such as sulfur and phosphorus) meet the standards.
Choose suppliers: Prioritize qualified and reputable suppliers to ensure product quality and after-sales service.
Batch procurement: Batch procurement can reduce unit price, but attention should be paid to inventory management and capital occupation.
