    Manufacturing of high-pressure gas cylinders

    The production of 6061 aluminum alloy tube blank has certain requirements. The lathe processing should ensure uniform wall thickness and control the wall thickness difference within 0.10mm. In this way, the tube produced by three rounds of strong rotation can effectively control its wall thickness accuracy, as well as better surface texture and smoothness; At the same time, the outer surface of the tube blank must have a good smoothness during turning, otherwise there will be peeling on the surface of the spun tube.     Summary:

    The influence of wall thickness reduction rate

    According to relevant literature, the ultimate thinning rate of 6061 aluminum alloy is 75%. If the thinning rate of the spun wall thickness approaches 75%, it may cause microcracks to appear in the spun parts. In addition, the thinning rate is not only limited by the material's spinnability and the spinning equipment's ability, but also by the precision and performance requirements of the spun parts in the process. In general, if the thinning rate is too small, the difference in deformation between the inner and outer surfaces of the cylindrical part will be too large, resulting in significant performance differences. On the contrary, excessive thinning rate will increase the accumulation of material in the front of the spinning wheel, resulting in excessive uplift and reduced spinning stability, especially for thick walled blanks


    The influence of feed ratio

    Increasing the feed ratio can shorten the spinning time and improve productivity, but if it is too large, it can easily cause material accumulation and bulging before the spinning wheel, increase surface roughness, and cause the workpiece to shrink in diameter. In severe cases, it can tighten the core mold and make it difficult to demold the workpiece; On the contrary, a feed ratio that is too small leads to excessive material flowing in the tangential direction, resulting in poor material adhesion, enlarged inner diameter, and increased ellipticity. This not only reduces productivity but also causes the workpiece to become excessively thin. Therefore, when performing multiple passes of strong spinning, if the machine tool capacity allows, a large feed ratio should be used in the initial pass to improve machining efficiency and ensure that the workpiece tightly holds the mold; Using a small feed ratio in the process before unloading is beneficial for reducing surface roughness and also for demolding the workpiece.

    The influence of axial displacement

    Misalignment spinning is a method of forming parts by spinning three spinning wheels that are offset by a certain distance from each other. Misalignment spinning can distribute the deformation of one spinning process to several spinning wheels, significantly reducing the burden borne by each spinning wheel. It is also possible to increase the deformation of the spinning passes appropriately within the allowable range of the material, thereby reducing the number of spinning passes and improving the spinning efficiency. At the same time, during the staggered spinning process, the front spinning wheel exerts axial tension on the billet before the rear spinning wheel, increasing the radial constraint on the deformation zone of the rear spinning wheel, thus improving the diameter accuracy of the workpiece.
    The axial displacement of the rotary wheel should be set reasonably. The axial misalignment should not be too large. If it is too large, there will be multiple thread trajectories, and the bending moment generated by the core mold will also increase. The workpiece will become unstable, twisted, and have poor roundness. The residual section of the blank that cannot be fully rotated will also be longer, and the material utilization rate will decrease. Too small axial displacement can cause severe uneven force distribution among the spinning wheels, which can affect the stability of the spinning process of the preceding wheel when the latter wheel undergoes deformation during spinning.

    Closing of high-pressure gas cylinder:

    6061The closure of aluminum alloy gas cylinders is achieved through hot spinning, which is crucial for temperature control. If the temperature is too low and the plastic deformation of the tube material is too small, it will be squeezed and broken; If the temperature is too high, the material will melt and the spinning will cause the phenomenon of falling pieces and cracking. Therefore, the temperature must be controlled within a reasonable range.
    The selection of spinning wheels is very important, and it is necessary to use wheels with large rounded corners. If the rounded corners are too small, the material will be stretched and the thickening effect cannot be achieved. The design of its spinning process cannot be treated as a regular closing spinning process, and due to technical confidentiality reasons, it will not be described here.
    The small mouth straight section of the gas cylinder needs to be spun longer because the maximum wall thickness after molding is located in the middle of the straight section.
