    -Hach XOS online monitoring instrument for total lead/total arsenic heavy metalsMeasurement principle:

    Hach XOS total lead/total arsenic heavy metal online monitoring instrument uses monochromatic wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (MWDXRF) spectroscopy technology to measure lead and arsenic elements in water.

    This heavy metal online monitoring device contains a MWDXRF host, an online flowing sample device, a touch screen interface, supporting electronic circuit devices, and computer hardware and software systems.

    An X-ray tube produces a continuous X-ray spectrum, with a maximum power of 50 W (voltage 50 kV and current 1 mA). The excitation DCC mirror intercepts X-rays of a specific wavelength from the X-ray tube, focuses them into a strong monochromatic beam, and hits the test sample to excite the inner layer electrons of lead or arsenic elements in the sample. The X-ray fluorescence radiation of the excited element lead or arsenic is collected by the DCC mirror and focused onto a detector.

    The intensity detected by the detector (counts per second) is directly proportional to the lead or arsenic content (mg/kg) in the sample. Based on this, the lead (arsenic) content in the sample can be calculated using a calibration equation based on the detected intensity.

    Compared with the multi-color light excitation used in conventional high-power WDXRF technology, the Hach XOS total lead/total arsenic heavy metal online monitor only requires the use of low-power X-ray tubes and DCC mirrors to obtain sufficient intensity of monochromatic excitation light. Monochromatic X-ray excitation significantly reduces background noise, simplifies substrate correction, and increases signal-to-noise ratio.
