Spray towers are divided into two types: industrial waste gas treatment equipment (such as alkali spray towers and acid mist spray towers) and dust, waste gas, and wastewater treatment equipment (flue gas desulfurization and dust removal).

The basic principle of a spray tower is to use the contact between gas and liquid to transfer pollutants from the gas to the liquid, and then separate the clean gas from the contaminated liquid to achieve the goal of clean air.

Absorption and purification towers are widely used in gas absorption and purification processes in various fields such as chemical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, copper and zinc smelting, industrial production, etc. Their structural forms are diverse, and the most commonly used are packed towers and plate towers. This type of tower has disadvantages such as high resistance, high cost, and heavy cleaning and maintenance management workload due to the presence of packing and tray inside the tower.

Our factory has developed a packless spray type gas purification tower. In this tower, there are no packings, gas-liquid exchange trays and other vapor liquid exchange devices. The atomizer is used for liquid atomization to make the vapor and liquid completely saturated. The main harmful gases treated by this type of tower are sulfuric acid mist, hydrochloric acid mist, chromic acid mist, nitric acid mist, phosphoric acid mist, hydrofluoric acid mist, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide and other highly polluting industries' waste gases, which are absorbed and purified to meet the process requirements. Its effect is more advantageous than traditional packed towers and plate towers.

Working Principle:

The exhaust gas from the outside of the tower enters the gas distributor inside the tower, and after being distributed by the gas distributor, the gas moves upward towards the tower. During the process, it encounters the liquid atomized by the atomizer, and the gas-liquid undergoes complete saturation contact and physical absorption or chemical reaction. The neutralized or absorbed liquid enters the storage tank and is pumped away by the water pump. The neutralized or absorbed standard gas is then discharged into the atmosphere after being dehazed by the demister.

Structure and characteristics:

Its structure includes tower body, gas distributor, atomizer, liquid redistributor, demister, and automatic control instrument components.

Characteristics of this tower:

1. No need for packing or gas-liquid exchange trays, low system resistance, reduced fan power, and saved energy consumption;

2. Using an atomizer, the atomizing nozzle completely atomizes the liquid, with a large gas-liquid exchange area and sufficient absorption and purification;

3. Due to the use of atomization and upward spraying in this tower, the exchange time between liquid and gas is doubled through the exchange of two upper and lower strokes;

4. As this tower eliminates the need for packing and trays, it also eliminates the need for supporting devices such as packing and tray supports, as well as manholes for packing assembly and disassembly. This not only reduces the production process, but also reduces the weight of the tower body, simplifies installation and foundation, and saves investment.

5. This tower body is a cylindrical tower body wrapped with fiberglass as a whole, without segmented connecting flanges, with high strength and no leakage hazards.

6. This tower can be equipped with a control system consisting of gas online analyzer, pH control meter, differential pressure transmitter, pressure sensor, flow sensor, conductivity meter, liquid level control meter, solenoid valve, frequency converter, and control cabinet. The above control conditions are displayed in digital form on the display interface, making it easy for management personnel to understand at a glance, and there are fault alarms for easy management and maintenance
