AlphaCom XE utilizes true IP audio edge devices (IP master, IP substation, and SIP station) to provide high-definition voice, active noise cancellation, adaptive jitter buffering, and an integrated management switch with advanced network and security features.

The processor board provides more capacity than ever before, allowing for more software based features and functionalities such as PA broadcasting and messaging services, secure voice guidance, internal and external networks, call billing, audio conferencing, and SIP station support. AlphaCom XE adopts CCoIP merging design to ensure the provision of instant and secure voice and data services.

The AlphaCom XE system provides operator grade system availability and protects resources in the IP environment through the use of embedded IP security mechanisms. The main security mechanisms used are restricted management access, independent management interface, internal firewall, and integrity check (MD5). The AMC-IP processor board is backward compatible, making it easy to upgrade and expand existing AlphaCom systems.

The AMC-IP processor board is also used for Exigo systems. In these systems, in addition to controlling the routing of audio in the control system, it is also responsible for maintaining the configuration and monitoring of all connected devices. It is located within the Exigo system controller ESC1 and serves as the primary system controller (PSC), providing maintenance personnel with instant access to system status and activity. The Exigo system (A-B system) that requires additional redundancy will use two Exigo system controllers, each controller containing an AMC-IP processor board.
