Gas chromatographs are difficult to monitor in real-time online and are expensive. Combustion based calorific value meters are complex to operate, have long response times, require large maintenance, and their accuracy is affected by gas flow rates. They can only measure the calorific value of coal gas and cannot measure the specific component content.
