FIB Copper Mesh Lift Out Carrier Mesh

Used for loading on FIB samples,FIB Copper Mesh Lift Out Carrier MeshConvenient transfer of samples to TEM for observation. These carrier nets have a standard diameter of 3mm, but their internal structure is specially designed to be only half that of TEM carrier nets, and they have 2, 3, 4, or even 5 or more "columns". Thin films are "welded" to these columns through FIB.

The materials used for carrying the network mainly include the following:

• Copper carrier network: the most common choice. Smooth surface and easy to weld. But if the sample itself contains copper or requires EDS analysis of copper elements, using a copper carrier network will cause signal interference.

  
  

• Molybdenum mesh: FIB molybdenum mesh is an ideal alternative when copper pollution needs to be avoided. It is stronger than copper.

  
  

• Silicon carrier network: mainly used for analysis of semiconductor devices. Due to the fact that both the FIB carrier and sample substrate are made of silicon, their ion beam milling rates are similar and do not introduce any foreign metal element contamination, making them very suitable for high-purity elemental analysis.

• Carbon Carrier Net: FIB carrier net made of pure carbon provides a metal free background suitable for analysis sensitive to light elements.
