The FCA500A contact angle measuring instrument is mainly used to measure the contact angle between liquid and solid, that is, the wettability of liquid to solid, and can also measure the contact angle when the external phase is liquid. This instrument can measure the contact angle of various liquids with various materials, such as block materials, fiber materials, textile materials, nanomaterials, semiconductor materials, silicon wafer materials, etc. Powder samples can also be measured after compression. At the same time, this series of instruments can measure and calculate liquid surface/interfacial tension and solid surface free energy. When a droplet is freely in a space unaffected by a force field, it takes on a spherical shape due to the presence of interfacial tension. However, when a droplet comes into contact with a solid plane, its final shape depends on the relative strength of the internal cohesion of the droplet and the adhesion between the droplet and the solid. When a droplet is placed on a solid surface, it can automatically spread out on the solid surface or exist as a droplet at a certain contact angle with the solid surface. Contact angle measuring instruments have important applications in improving oil extraction rates, flotation of target minerals, clean coal processing, biopharmaceutical materials, semiconductor chip industry, and characterization of non-toxic low surface energy anti fouling materials. In addition, contact angle measurement technology also has important applications in characterizing industries such as ink, cosmetics, pesticides, printing and dyeing, papermaking, fabric finishing, detergents, spraying, and wastewater treatment.
