Overview

The ex vivo muscle testing system is highly integrated, providing a simple method for physiological researchers to control and measure complete muscle and physiological small tissue samples. Featuring multiple configuration options and functions, it can accurately measure the force and length of a range of small tissue types. From engineering organizational structure to zebrafish, the 1500A system is an important choice for functional muscle measurement.

1500A:Ex vivo muscle testing system

Adapting microscope

The standard system configuration of 1500/1510/1530A includes everything needed to start testing immediately: length controller, force sensor, stimulator, force sensor connected to muscles through a slot at the end of the bath, including XYZ micrometer platform with built-in bracket. This provides an ideal configuration for artificial muscle structure or oxygen consumption research, which requires sealed chambers with lids.

The system can be used in conjunction with most inverted microscopes, allowing for integrated measurement of sarcomere length and bioluminescence. FluoroTrack and HVSL/VSL video sarcomere length modules are paired for real-time synchronous measurement of force, calcium, and sarcomere length.

Product Features

Capable of characterizing small and complete muscle tissue, performing all standard measurements including convulsions, tetanus, fatigue, length tension, force frequency, force velocity, stiffness, and work cycle. Signal acquisition and data management are processed by software, including standardized protocols, which can transform complex experiments into simple and direct measurements.

●AllowControl and measure force and length●Temperature controlled bath board size 400-1900 µ L

●Compatible with standard and inverted microscopes●Resolution as low as 0.01 μ N

●Power range from0.5-1000 mN ●A complete testing system with integrated bath device, suitable for complete small muscles

Optimize the design of highly integrated devices that can test small yet complete muscle contractions

Application Examples

According to the sample:

■Skeletal muscles:

Living body - extensor digitorum longus (EDL), soleus muscle, plantar muscle, diaphragm, vermicularis muscle

In situ - tibialis anterior (TA), gastrocnemius, quadriceps femoris, hamstring, tongue, rotator cuff

Off body dorsiflexion (TA, EDL), plantar flexor muscles (stomach, flounder, sole), mandible, index finger (flexor digitorum brevis FDB)

■Artificial muscles and connective tissues: cartilage, epithelial tissue, tendons.

According to the type of experiment:

▲ Twitch: A single pulse designed to induce single or small muscle fiber contractions.

▲Ankylosing contraction: rapid and continuous electrical pulses that causeMuscle contraction.

▲Fatigue: Frequently repeating the largest number of rigid contractions to cause muscle fatigue.

▲Force frequency: The rate at which the stimulation frequency is changed to evaluate the optimal frequency that causes the maximum tetanic force.

▲Irregularity: Actively stretching muscles during isometric rigid contractions to induce injury and evaluate resistance to injury or recovery from it.

▲Gait analysis/modeling exercise (isotonic, concentric): Control muscle strength output (isotonic) to evaluate muscle shortening speed.

▲Stiffness: Passive sine extension and muscle shortening are used to evaluate the intrinsic stiffness of tissues.

▲Stress strain: Incremental elongation of the tissue is used to calculate the Young's modulus of the material.
