Overview

The electric SCOT type rub resistance test method involves cutting two test pieces with a width of 30mm and a length of 120mm towards the longitudinal and transverse directions of the specimen. Align the base fabric surfaces of two test pieces in the same direction inward, and install the test pieces on an electric SCOT type rub resistance testing machine with a clamping interval of 30mm. Gradually reduce the spacing of the clamping tool to separate the two test pieces. When there is slight contact between the base fabric surfaces of the two test pieces, apply force until the spacing is reduced to 9.8N (1kg). Also known as the Scott rub resistance testing machine, it is suitable for the rub resistance of materials such as leather, knitting, rubber, and cloth in automotive interiors.
