EMRAX d.o.o. is a motor manufacturing and development enterprise headquartered in Slovenia, focusing on the research and development of innovative axial flux permanent magnet synchronous motors. EMRAX 188 is one of the core product series of the brand, which adopts a compact axial flux disk structure with high power density and torque density, and can be adapted to various application scenarios such as vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, ultra light aviation, electric motorcycles, automobiles, and marine outboard engines.

Core technical parameters

The EMRAX 188 adopts an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous motor design, with a shell diameter of 188mm, an axial length of 77-79mm, and a weight of 7.1-7.9kg. The specific values vary with the cooling method. The rated working voltage range of the motor is 50-660V DC, divided into three versions: high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage, which can be matched with different power supply systems.

The peak power of the motor is 60kW, the continuous power is 37kW; the peak torque is 100Nm, the continuous torque is 56Nm, and the maximum speed is 8000rpm. The peak efficiency of the motor can reach 96%, with a comprehensive efficiency range of 92-98%, and the operating state is stable.

Axial magnetic flux structure and cooling scheme

This motor adopts an axial flux disk structure, with the stator and rotor arranged along the axial direction, and the magnetic flux direction parallel to the rotation axis. Compared with traditional radial flux motors, it can achieve higher power density in the same volume.

The motor supports three cooling methods: the air cooling version has a protection level of IP21 and weighs 7.1kg; the liquid cooling version has a protection level of IP65/IP66 and weighs 7.9kg; and the combined cooling version has a protection level of IP21 and weighs 7.6kg. The combined cooling mode must meet both air and liquid cooling conditions and cannot be used alone as air cooling.

The motor position sensor can use a rotary transformer or encoder, and the stator winding is integrated with a temperature sensor to monitor the motor's thermal status in real time. The bearing adopts a combination configuration of 6205 and 3204, with a rotor inertia of 0.00989kg · m ², and the winding supports star connection and multiple wiring methods.

Installation method and extended functions

The EMRAX 188 is equipped with 6 M6 threaded mounting holes on the front end and 16 M6 threaded mounting holes on the back end, supporting diverse installation layouts. The product supports axial stacking function, and two motors can be directly stacked to achieve double power and torque output without the need for additional couplings or transmission mechanisms.

The drive shaft can choose standard shaft or external spline extension shaft, and the front internal spline supports front and rear bidirectional torque output, which can flexibly adapt to different transmission system layout requirements.
