3. High voltage combination/Split button: After turning on the device power, the high-voltage circuit does not work. Only by pressing the high-voltage on/off button when the voltage regulating knob is in the zero position can the high-voltage circuit be started. At this time, the "High Voltage Close" indicator light is on and outputs high voltage. When the device is in high voltage output state, pressing the high voltage on/off button will stop the high voltage circuit from working,”High voltage division”The indicator light is on, and at the same time, the internal high-voltage energy storage capacitor and the charge on the tested cable are discharged. Only after adjusting the pressure knob to zero position, press the high pressure button to close/Only by pressing the button can the high-voltage circuit be restarted.

When the device applies a high voltage impulse to the cable, if the value displayed on the LED changes significantly, it indicates that the fault point has been broken down; If the numerical change displayed by the LED is small, it indicates that the fault point has not been broken down.
8. Discharge mode selection switch: There are three discharge modes: DC, single, and cycle. The DC mode is specifically designed for measuring flashover faults and is usually used in conjunction with high-voltage adjustment. Single gear is set for high resistance fault distance measurement, only press onceThe "single discharge" button only performs one discharge, and the cycle mode is set for the fault location. When the device is in this mode, it will automatically discharge according to the time cycle set for the discharge cycle. When using a cable fault locator for precise positioning, the periodic discharge mode should be selected, with a discharge cycle of about 6 seconds for 2 μ F and 10 μ F, and about 8 seconds for 4 μ F.
9. Single discharge button: WhenWhen the "discharge mode" selection switch is in the single position, only pressing the single discharge button once will discharge and output the signal. When selecting the DC and cycle modes, this button is invalid.
The high-voltage output line and protective grounding wire are led out and stored from the accessory package at the back of the equipment.

When there is a phase armor fault, the black clamp is connected to the cable sheath, and the red clamp is connected to the faulty core wire. However, when there is a phase to phase fault, the black clamp and the red clamp are connected to two faulty core wires respectively. In order to ensure personal safety, the control unit is equipped with a device that can automatically discharge the cable after the power supply is cut off. When working on this device, stay away from the output clamp. After the equipment is used up, it should be discharged first, and the wire should be removed when the high voltage indicator is zero.
2. Protective grounding: It is the grounding point for equipment protection. To ensure personal and equipment safety, it must be reliably grounded.
1. Firstly, follow the diagramInstall the entire equipment as shown in 3-1-1.

Connect the power cord and high-voltage output line of this device (note: when wiring, the unused phase wire should be grounded together with the test ground). Then connect the protective grounding wire of the equipment to the grounding grid of the substation to ensure good grounding. At the same time, connect the discharge rod to the test ground wire.
1. Select the wiring method according to the testing purpose, and connect the high-voltage output wiring clamp to the faulty cable. For specific wiring methods, please refer to the user manual of the matching rangefinder and fixed-point instrument.
2. Turn the pressure adjustment knob to the zero position. connectAC220V power cord, turn on the power switch, the power indicator light will turn on.
3. Select discharge mode based on the fault nature of the cable When measuring flashover faults with low cable leakage current, choose DC, for other faults, choose single time, and for fixed points, choose cycle.
4. Recheck if the wiring and equipment are working correctly!
5. Turn the voltage adjustment knob to the zero position, the zero position indicator light will turn on, and press the high voltage button to close/Press the button and the high voltage closing indicator light will turn on, indicating that the high voltage input power supply has been connected.
6. Adjust the high voltage adjustment knob according to the withstand voltage level of the cable, so that the high voltage indicator reaches the specified voltage. After the voltage adjustment knob leaves the zero position, the zero position indicator light goes out.
7. Select discharge mode: Generally, the single discharge method is set for cable fault distance measurement, and only by pressing the single discharge button once will a discharge be carried out; The periodic discharge method is set for fault location, and the discharge cycle is approximately5 seconds.
8. When conducting distance measurement or precise positioningThe breakdown of the fault point can be determined based on the magnitude of the voltage indication change during discharge. When the device applies a high voltage impulse to the cable, if the high voltage indication changes significantly, it indicates that the fault point has been penetrated; If the change in high voltage indication is small, it indicates that the fault point has not been broken down. When the fault point is not broken down, fault distance measurement and fault location cannot be carried out, and the output voltage needs to be further increased.
9. After completing the work, press the high pressure button to close/Split button, high voltage split indicator light on, the device automatically discharges the charge stored in the internal high voltage energy storage capacitor, then turns off the power switch, and uses a discharge rod to discharge the high voltage output terminal. It is strongly recommended to reset the high voltage adjustment button to zero before turning off the power switch!
10. After the discharge is completed, wait for the high voltage indication to be zero, ensure that the instrument is not charged, remove the wiring, and store the cables and other accessories in the accessory package for future use.
