BEI IDEACOD Incremental Encoder Description:
Industrial optical encoder is an angular position sensor:
1. An optical encoder with radial light and dark lines is installed on the rotating shaft of the encoder.
2. Use a light source (LED) The light emitted by the light-emitting diode passes through the code channel and reaches the receiver to output an analog signal. The BEI IDEACOD encoder uses differential reading method, which is beneficial for reducing signal amplitude reduction caused by ball bearing wear and optical component aging.
3. This signal is enhanced electronically and then converted into a numerical signal. This numerical signal can be read by the lower level circuit control system PLC (display), and the incremental encoder counts the number of pulses on the encoder. The incremental encoder cannot remember its position when powered off and needs to search for the reference point again at the beginning of each new cycle.
