Experience has shown that some polymer materials corrode more outdoors due to humidity (especially condensation) than other factors. Therefore, the moisture resistance test of coatings is also an important method for evaluating their corrosion resistance. This method can be used as an important evaluation tool to examine the corrosion resistance performance of coatings.
The ISO 6270:2017 series of standards is a test method standard for evaluating the moisture resistance of coatings, consisting of three parts:
Part 1: Determination of moisture resistance of paints and varnishes Part 1: Condensation (single-sided exposure)
Part 2: Determination of moisture resistance of paints and varnishes Part 2: Condensation (exposed in a test chamber with a heated water tank)
Part 3: Determination of moisture resistance of paints and varnishes Part 3: Condensation (exposure in a test chamber with heated and bubbling water tank)

BGD 876 Cycle Condensation Test ChamberAccording to GB/T 13893.2 "Determination of Moisture Resistance of Paints and Varnishes Part 2 Condensation (Exposure in a Test Chamber with a Heated Water Tank)" (equivalent to the international standard ISO 6270-2); This standard is different from the "continuous condensation method" in Part 1, but specifies three cyclic procedures: CH (condensation environment under constant humidity), AHT (condensation environment under alternating air temperature and humidity), and AT (condensation environment under alternating air temperature and humidity) to simulate different humid environments, which can better supplement and explain the corrosion degree and defect types of coatings in different environments. Compared with the single-sided exposure in Part 1, this method involves exposure in the test chamber and increases the condensation environment under alternating changes, mainly examining the anti-corrosion performance of coatings in different environments.
