Principle of Micro Lens Enhanced Nipkow Rotary Scanning Technology

CSU-X1 laser confocal scanning unitA Nipkow disk containing approximately 20000 pinholes and a disk containing the same number of microlenses (used to focus the excitation laser into each corresponding pinhole) are mechanically fixed with a motor, and when rotated, the field of view is scanned by a fast grating with approximately 1000 laser beams. The pinhole and micro lens patterns are designed exclusively by Yokogawa Electric to optimize grating scanning. Using CSU-X1 for multi beam scanning can not only improve scanning speed, but also significantly reduce photobleaching and phototoxicity, as multiple excitations only require lower levels of laser power on the sample to excite fluorescence.
Detailed introduction
faster
Scanning speed up to 2000fps
Yokogawa Electric's proprietary filter wheel with six filter positions moves to adjacent positions at a relatively fast speed of 33 milliseconds.
brighter
By using the newly developed beam shaping lens, the excitation power efficiency can be doubled*1Allowing the use of lower power lasers and reducing camera exposure time.

By reducing background noise by one-third, the signal-to-noise ratio can be increased by three times*1Expand the ability of true low light imaging. By using highly efficient dichroic mirrors and emission filters, the image is significantly brighter*1.

More features - Dual camera option * 1
Users can use two cameras to simultaneously image two different emission ranges, or selectively use one of the two cameras installed that is more suitable for the current experimental requirements. For each camera port, users can choose to install a high-speed filter wheel (optional). In addition to the standard C-mount adapter, adapters for 8X8 EMCCD cameras and F-mount cameras are also available (optional).

More Features - Clear View Path Options * 2
It allows users to use a camera for confocal imaging through CSU-X1 and bright field (non confocal) imaging through a bypass optical path.
More features - replaceable mirror block and replaceable filter
Easy to replace dichroic mirror block and emission filter.

*1. It is necessary to use the commercially available dichroic mirror selected by the user for synchronous multi-color imaging.
*Due to spatial interference, the bright field option is not suitable for certain microscope settings. Please consult its applicability in advance.
