-Product Overview:
The CODmax II potassium dichromate COD rapid analyzer can be used to determine COD based on the potassium dichromate method (in accordance with the national standard GB11914-90). This sewage COD rapid analyzer has stable performance and low maintenance.
-Working principle:
The principle of using potassium dichromate method to determine COD is as follows: a mixture of water sample, potassium dichromate, silver sulfate solution (catalyst promotes more complete oxidation of linear aromatic compounds), and concentrated sulfuric acid is heated to 175 ℃ in a digestion tank. During this period, chromium ions act as oxidants and are reduced from VI valence to III valence, resulting in a change in color. The degree of color change corresponds to the content of organic compounds in the sample, and the instrument directly displays the COD of the sample through colorimetric conversion. The main interferent in COD detection of wastewater using CODmax II potassium dichromate COD rapid analyzer is chloride, which can be removed by adding mercuric sulfate to form a complex.
