Gurley air permeability tester is a standard testing method for porosity, air permeability, and air resistance of various materials, which can be applied to quality control and research and development in the production of papermaking, textiles, non-woven fabrics, plastic films, and other industries.

Measure the time required for a certain volume of gas (25-300cc) to flow through a specific area of the sample under stable pressure. The air pressure is provided by a cylinder with a specific diameter and standard weight, which can slide freely inside an outer cylinder filled with sealing oil. The test sample is clamped between standard gaskets, with a small hole in the center of the gasket allowing gas to flow through, with a diameter of 1.0, 0.25, or 0.1 square inches.

The standard 4110 air permeability meter comes with a 20 ounce built-in cylinder and upper and lower clamps with a 1.0 square inch circular hole. The initial two movement intervals of the inner cylinder are 25cc, and then both are 50cc, with a total volume of 300cc. The breathability meter uses a rotating handle to lift the lower platform and clamp the sample for fixation and clamping.

The 4110 model is a device for measuring air permeability. If smaller aperture interfaces and gaskets are used, low permeability materials can be effectively measured, and a 5-ounce inner cylinder can be used to measure high permeability materials. An automatic timer can be selected for convenient testing timing.
