Why is it so important to determine the closed flash point?

The core basis for fire and explosion hazard classification is flash point, which is the direct basis for international and domestic standards (such as GB 30000, GHS, NFPA) to classify the hazard of flammable liquids (such as flammable liquids, combustible liquids). working principle

The instrument strictly follows international standards (such as ASTM D93, ISO 2719) and Chinese national standards (such as GB/T 261). Its workflow simulates the classic Binsky Martin closed cup method, but achieves full automation:

Automatic injection and heating: The instrument accurately measures a specified volume (usually 50-70mL) of the sample and injects it into a standard closed cup. Then heat uniformly at a rate controlled by the program (such as 5-6 ° C/min).

Periodic ignition and steam mixing:

At the preset temperature point (or throughout the entire process), the internal igniter of the instrument will automatically generate a standard sized test flame at standard intervals (such as 1 ° C or 2 ° C), and synchronously operate through an automatic stirring system to ensure uniform mixing of steam and air in the cup.

Automatic detection of flash fire:

This is the core technology. The instrument uses highly sensitive optical sensors (phototubes) to detect whether the flame has ignited the mixture inside the cup.

When a momentary, blue flame spread (i.e. "flash fire") is detected inside the cup, the sensor immediately triggers a signal.

Automatic judgment and recording:

The control system captures the sample temperature at the moment of the flash signal and automatically records the temperature as the measured flash point.

After the test is completed, the instrument will automatically calibrate the measured flash point to the flash point value at standard atmospheric pressure based on atmospheric pressure (usually with a built-in pressure sensor).

Automatic reporting and secure termination: The results are automatically displayed, printed, or transmitted to the computer. After the test is completed, the instrument automatically stops heating and can automatically cool and clean.
