1. The composition of volatile aroma and flavor compounds in food, and the determination of residues and pollutants in food.

2. The composition of thermally degradable compounds in solid matrices, such as plasticizers, additives, monomers, etc. in polymer materials (the degradation products of these samples are determined by adsorption thermal desorption analysis, which is helpful for the investigation of arson cases).

3. Unwanted components in the sample matrix, such as residual solvents in pharmaceuticals, residual monomers in polymers, and other oligomers.

4. purposefully collect volatile components in the sample matrix, such as polluted atmosphere, salt, and sugar. At present, the typical application is to use adsorption tubes to collect volatile organic pollutants (benzene derivatives, VOCs) in the air for environmental monitoring.

5. A single thermal analysis is generally only used for lower boiling point temperature components (C2~C13), and inorganic and permanent gases are not easy to perform.
