Sucrose octasulfate sodium salt

Sucrose octasulfates are a group of compounds with the structure C12H14O35S8-X8 (as shown in the figure below), where X can represent elements such as K, Na, Al, Ag, etc. In liposomes, sucrose octasulfate is mainly used in irinotecan liposomes. The use of sucrose octasulfate can make irinotecan gel or precipitate in the aqueous phase and be stably encapsulated, improving drug encapsulation efficiency. Other studies have shown that sucrose octasulfate, as an active substance in the body, can activate growth factors in the body or fibroblasts, producing a series of physiological effects. In addition, potassium sucrose octasulfate has been shown to reduce the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), stabilize growth factors, and prevent their degradation by MMP, thereby reducing wound healing time. Based on the above mechanism, sucrose octasulfate (SOS) has been applied as a new dressing in the treatment of diabetes foot, and a treatment method of sucrose octasulfate dressing mainly aimed at improving neuroischemic ulcer has also emerged in the multi center clinical trial.
