Overview

After coupling polyethylene glycol (PEG) with bovine serum albumin (BSA), the advantages of both were combined to produce a composite material with unique properties

Product Details

Serum albumin (BSA) is a single polypeptide chain protein extracted from bovine serum and widely used in biochemical and biomedical research.

·BSA consists of 583 amino acid residues with a molecular weight of approximately 66.5 kDa.

·It has a tertiary structure and contains various secondary structural elements such as alpha helices and beta folds, with multiple hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions.

·Isoelectric point (pI)Approximately 4.7.

·solubilityHighly soluble in water and various buffer solutions.

·thermal stabilityBSA has high thermal stability and can withstand certain high temperature treatments.

PEG-BSA function

1.Improve biocompatibility and stability

PEG modified BSA (PEG-BSA) has higher biocompatibility, can reduce immune system recognition and clearance, and improve stability in vivo.PEG provides spatial shielding effect to prevent protein molecule aggregation and degradation.

2.Enhance solubility and long cycle timeThe hydrophilicity of PEG enhances the solubility of BSA in aqueous solution. The PEG-BSA complex has a longer circulation time in the blood, which is beneficial for the delivery of drugs and genes.

3.Reduce non-specific bindingPEG modification can reduce non-specific protein adsorption and cellular uptake, improving the specificity of targeted delivery.
