+GF+SignetindustryLarge inventory of pH electrodes
+GF+Signet electrode storage
Proper electrode storage can maximize electrode performance and prolong electrode lifespan.
Before storage, add 3 mol/L KCl (approximately half full) to the electrode storage cap and carefully secure the cap to the top of the electrode.
Keep the boxed electrodes in contact with the liquid and place them flat or vertically (with the electrode tip facing downwards) to facilitate hydration on the glass surface.
Store the electrodes in a stable temperature environment, avoiding extreme cold (below 0 ° C (<33 ° F) and heat above 100 ° F).
Do not store electrodes in deionized (DI) water. Use a 3mol/L KCl solution to keep the glass moist during the process.
Short term storage (up to 24 hours) - Soak the electrode in pH 4.01 buffer solution or 3 mol/L KCl solution.
PH sensitive glass and contacts must avoid drying (otherwise they may cause damage to the electrode).
Before installing the electrode, ensure that a thin layer of synthetic grease (such as silicone free grease) is applied to the electrode O-ring. If the electrode will be installed on the GFSignet installation connector
Also, apply a thin layer of synthetic grease on the O-ring below.
Long term storage (over 24 hours) - Add 3 mol/L KCl solution (approximately half full) to the storage cap and carefully secure the cap to the top of the electrode. This will ensure that the probe is always ready for use
The pH electrode is calibrated by placing it in a buffer solution with a known pH and measuring the battery potential. The pH value is a linear function within the pH range of 2-11
Number, therefore two calibration points are required. The calibration buffer solutions used are 4.01 and 7.00 (@ 25 ° C). If the pH value is measured in the acid to neutral range,
We recommend using buffer pH 4.01 and buffer pH 7.00 for calibration. If measuring alkaline samples, we recommend using buffer 7.00 and buffer
Perform calibration on 10.01.
The response of glass electrodes is mainly composed of two parameters: offset and slope. The theoretical output of the pH electrode is 0 when the pH is 7
MV. Offset is the deviation of pH value from the nominal value. In Signet transmitters, offset calibration is performed under the standard.
The slope of the glass electrode is the mV generated per pH unit (mV/pH). At 25 ° C, the theoretical slope is 59.16 mV/pH. Therefore, at pH 4.01
At pH 10.01 (with lower H+concentration), a potential of -177 mV will be generated (see Table 2). For a new electricity
In extreme terms, at pH 7.00, 0-15 mV will be generated, with a slope efficiency between 93.2-103%. In Signet
In the transmitter, the manual slope calibration operation menu is located in SLOPE.
