The main development direction of China's instrumentation industry

Academician Lu Peizhang participated in the recent China Scientific Instrument Development Symposium held in Hangzhou.
Lu believes that the development of scientific instruments is very important for the country. Without advanced analytical tools, there can be no advanced research results. China wants to occupy a position, but the instrument industry is unlikely to achieve this goal. Lu put forward three suggestions for the development of instruments in China:
1. The alliance of instrument enterprises, strengthening and expanding, forming a group, based in China, rushing forward, and standing firm in the market is the only way to compete with other enterprises and defeat foreign manufacturers;
2. Grasp the characteristics and focus on breakthroughs. Domestic instruments should be combined with national characteristics and use some instruments as breakthrough points. In some aspects, our country is already at an advanced level and has a good foundation, such as the analysis fingerprint spectrum and evaluation of Chinese herbal medicine. We can design and manufacture instruments, develop supporting software systems with independent intellectual property rights, and establish standards and market positions;
3. Strengthening basic research and enhancing innovation level, only when basic research reaches the level of *, can domestic instrument level make breakthroughs and gain status.
